I'm so Caught Up

i don't know whether its just me or because i just watched a free screening of "He's Just Not That Into You"...but I have to say that that was one of the few movies which i could say was cruelly accurate.

*warning: Spoilers*

Although some parts of the film which portrayed different times in life (like Ben contemplating adultery and Janine trying to rekindle their marriage or Mary who just can't get into a serious relationship even after trying so many different angles/technologies), we can still relate to certain characters. There were laughs in the cinema but at the wrong times? How is it that people can laugh at Janine after she had to clean up after smashing her mirror? Or how people go 'Aww...' when Alex told Gigi "You're my exception..." Its so cliched.

But whom i really related was Alex and Gigi's story. I liked how the writers allowed two characters to be have different perspective in their love lives while ultimately feeling exactly the same in the end...i.e. how Alex reacted when Gigi wouldn't return his calls exactly the same way how Gigi was with her other dates.

Memorable quote
Kelli Ann: You can't focus, jumping every time your phone rings, checking your e-mail a hundred times a day, wishing you could write songs, feeling the need to bring up her name in random conversations. You can't hide it, man. I know YOU are strung out.
Alex: Shit.

Side note: Suddenly the line "Where do we go now?" from Sweet Child of Mine - GnR pops into my head...

I say I can relate because we know we've all been there before; misreading the signs, getting stuck in a rut, waiting for the right time, getting the rug pulled out from under you, or just feeling lonely. But in the end the greatest thing is you never gave up hope

btw, it definitely was the movie that got me all sappy :P
